Join Us in Creating Belonging

Volunteers help us support students, uplift educators, and bring our mission to life.

When you show up, students feel supported. Educators feel valued. School culture grows stronger. Your presence creates real change.

Why Volunteer

Volunteers are the heartbeat of this work. You help create moments that students remember and educators rely on. Every volunteer brings something unique. Every volunteer makes a difference.

You make a direct impact on student wellbeing

Your presence helps students feel seen, supported, and understood. You help create moments that change how they show up in school.

You support educators and school communities

Educators rarely get the backup they deserve. Your support helps entire school teams breathe a little easier and feel more connected.

You help create safe, inclusive environments

You help build spaces where every student feels welcome. Your involvement makes classrooms calmer, kinder, and more connected.

You join a mission driven community that cares about people

You become part of a team that believes in belonging and shows up for students, educators, and each other.

Volunteer Roles

Student Program Support

You help during student sessions, support reflection activities, and assist Student Ambassadors as they learn to lead with empathy and connection.

Event Support

You help with setup and breakdown, greet families and students, and support engagement activities that make events feel warm and welcoming.

Community Outreach

You represent POAC at community events, support awareness campaigns, and help more people learn about the work happening inside schools.

What Volunteers Receive

Volunteers receive training and orientation so they feel confident and prepared. You receive a POAC volunteer badge, opportunities to support multiple schools, and community service hours if needed. Most importantly, you become part of a community that believes in connection and belonging.

From a Student

"Since POAC, I have had deeper conversations about equality and learned how to make other people feel comfortable. I feel like I did not have a voice before this to speak out."

Dario Peto, Student

From an Educator

"It has helped build our classroom community because students are able to learn more about one another and create connections, which helps build their relationships."

Amanda Bradberry, Smithville Middle School
