Her Approach
Grounded. Trauma Aware. Human Centered.
Dr. Platt’s approach is rooted in the belief that belonging is the foundation of learning. She helps educators understand the unseen pressures students carry and equips them with tools that shift behavior, connection, and culture.
Her work is not theory alone. It is lived experience. As a former teacher, principal, and district leader, she brings practical wisdom that resonates with educators at every level. She makes complex systems feel simple and doable. Her guidance helps schools build cultures where students feel safe enough to learn and confident enough to lead.
Belonging is not a program.
It is a way of seeing students
and a way of seeing each other.
The 12 Mindsets of Belonging
Training That Transforms School Culture
Dr. Platt is trained in the 12 Mindsets of Belonging, a framework that helps schools build environments where students feel connected, valued, and understood.
Each mindset gives educators a lens to understand student behavior, respond with empathy, and create classrooms where students feel emotionally safe.
These trainings help schools shift from reacting to behavior to understanding the story behind it. They give educators language, tools, and confidence to support students who are carrying invisible burdens.
A Deeper Look at the 12 Mindsets of Belonging
The 12 Mindsets of Belonging give educators a clear way to understand what students need in order to feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. These mindsets help adults see behavior through a lens of compassion and clarity. They guide schools toward practices that build trust, strengthen relationships, and support emotional safety.
Mindsets That Help Adults See Students Clearly
The mindsets help educators recognize the hidden pressures students carry. They offer language that makes it easier to talk about emotions, needs, and patterns. They help adults respond with understanding instead of frustration.
Mindsets That Support Emotional Safety
Each mindset gives educators a simple way to create classrooms where students feel valued and included. They help adults build routines, expectations, and interactions that reduce anxiety and increase connection.
Mindsets That Strengthen School Culture
When schools use the 12 Mindsets, they begin to shift from reacting to behavior to building systems that prevent it. These mindsets help teams work together, support each other, and create a culture where belonging is practiced every day.

A Leader Who Helps Schools Heal and Grow
Dr. Tracy Platt is more than an educational strategist. She is a steady guide for schools working to build connection, trust, and belonging. Her presence brings calm. Her leadership brings clarity. Her heart brings hope. She helps educators feel supported, students feel seen, and entire buildings move toward a healthier, more connected culture.
Her work reminds schools that healing is possible, growth is possible, and belonging is possible when we choose to build it together.
“Belonging is the soil where learning grows. When we build it with intention, everything changes.”

One sticky note stopped me cold. During our What I Wish People Knew activity, an eighth‑grade girl wrote, “When I see my overweight self in the mirror, it makes me want to cry. I wonder why I cannot look like other people.”
That moment reminded me of something we rarely say out loud: schools teach academics, but they do not teach students how to love themselves. Every day, kids carry silent battles we never see.
As a former principal, I watched students chase significance, comparison, and belonging without ever being taught what those needs mean. When we give students space to share their truth, everything shifts. Awareness becomes connection. Connection becomes healing.
This is the work of POAC. We help students understand they are not alone, they are not invisible, and they are worthy of being seen.
